This reflects the belief that not only must we spread the Good News of the Kingdom of God by what we say but also by what we do.  New ideas for mission and ministry are therefore prayerfully encouraged and developed.

A New Priest in Charge



The  Revd. Dave Mapes will be licensed as Priest in Charge on Saturday 7th August at 5.00pm, St. Mark’s Church in Archers Road, Southampton by the Bishop of Winchester, The Right Reverend Michael Scott-Joynt.

Dave and his wife Jill are moving to St. Mark’s full of anticipation for God’s unfolding vision for the ministry in the parish. They have strengths in pastoral care, training and mission, with a priority in developing and nurturing relationships and hospitality. Dave feels excited about leading the Team and starting a new season of ministry in Southampton.


Dave’s first service in charge will be on Sunday 8th August at 10.00am and all are most welcome.


We are a New Wine Church - by that we mean, we are part of the New Wine Network of Churches which has the aim of ‘Equipping Churches to see Jesus’ Kingdom Grow'.


Our church activities include weekly home groups, social events, children and young people’s clubs and groups and a music group. We also have a strong link with our local junior school with church members participating in school activities.
